The absence of even one tooth has a significant impact on your smile. It is not just a matter of aesthetics. Over time, adjacent teeth begin to shift, opposing teeth begin to move, and the bone in the area of tooth loss gradually “loses volume” because it is not being used. This affects your bite, chewing, and even your facial features. That is why it is important to restore the tooth as a fully functional unit.
Implantation allows you to do this as naturally as possible.
A dental implant consists of two parts:
the root — it is fixed in the jawbone and replaces the root of the tooth
the crown — restores the shape, color, and function of the tooth.
At the RIKOTA clinic, we can perform single-stage implantation when the implant is installed in the morning and the crown is fixed on the same day. The entire procedure usually takes about 1.5 hours.
After implantation, we install a temporary crown so that you feel comfortable during the healing period.
The integration of the implant with the bone takes 3-6 months:
for the upper jaw — usually a little longer;
for the lower jaw — faster.
After that, we replace the temporary crown with a permanent one — one that will serve for a long time and look like your own tooth.
