Correcting occlusion using fixed appliances – braces

When are braces needed?

  • Uneven teeth alignment
  • Malocclusion
  • Jaw development imbalance
  • Teeth displacement after tooth loss
  • Teeth crowding
Is age a limitation for braces?
No. Malocclusion can be corrected at any age. The only difference is that the correction process usually takes longer in adults than in children, as the jaws are already fully formed.
At RIKOTA, we have a history of treating a patient who underwent orthodontic treatment at the age of 72 and achieved stable and predictable results.
How is the braces installation procedure performed?
The installation of braces takes 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the complexity of the clinical case. Before installation, all teeth must be treated and, if indicated, wisdom teeth must be removed. Braces are installed on both jaws.
How long do you need to wear braces?
The duration of treatment is individual, but on average, the alignment process takes 18-24 months. During treatment, monthly check-ups with an orthodontist are necessary to ensure that the correction is accurate and safe. After the braces are removed, a retention phase is mandatory — caps and retainers that secure the result.

Why choose braces at RIKOTA?

  • We take on complex clinical cases, including disorders of the temporomandibular joint.
  • Each case is discussed at a doctors’ consultation.
